Job purpose:

  • To deliver the operations of the Nottingham Winter Shelter during 2016-17, alongside fellow Project Workers.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

·         Work a waking night shift between 8:30pm and 08:30am

·         Working with the Shelter Coordinators, other Project Workers and volunteers to ensure the setting up and clearing up of the shelter

·         “Checking in” residents each evening between 9 and 10pm

·         Signing in/storing residents alcohol, possessions and medications

·         Overseeing the serving of refreshments

·         Make a key contribution to the safe, warm, happy environment of the project

·         Ongoing monitoring of all areas in the project in accordance with our policies and procedures

·         Supporting service users, and responding to their needs during the project

·         Assisting and encouraging service users to access existing accommodation and service providers, including making referrals

·         Recording key information within the daily log and reporting all incidents and accidents to the Shelter Coordinator

·         To complete the handover of keys, Shift Report/other paperwork to Emmanuel House each morning.

·         Any other reasonable duties

 

Special requirements:

  • Shifts will be waking night shifts.

We are recruiting workers on a sessional/casual basis for the winter shelter. Any offer of the post will be subject to references and DBS checks.
