In the current climate, funding is probably the biggest challenge faced by the community and voluntary sector.

At NCVS we can help you to:

  • Develop skills around writing funding applications and tenders
  • Provide opportunities to meet major funders such as Big Lottery (see our training courses)
  • Identify the resources you need and create a realistic budget
  • Develop your funding applications and tenders
  • Improve your chance of success by giving feedback on your draft applications and tenders.

Some of our services are free, we may charge for others.  Contact us for more details.

Here are some tips to help you find out more about funding opportunities and other help:

  • You can sign up for our weekly NCVS E-bulletin.  This includes information about funding opportunities.  This funding page here on our website also includes funding news (see right), and we also have an 'NCVS funding' page on Facebook that you can send a 'friend request' to to get regular updates.
  • You can search for funding through Funding Central. This is a funding search website managed by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO). You can search for grants, contracts, and loan finance for your charity, voluntary organisation, or social enterprise.  You can also sign up to get email alerts when new funding information becomes available.  Visit Funding Central
  • You can also search for tender opportunities through Source Nottinghamshire. This includes live tender opportunities in Nottingham city and county.  Some are particularly relevant to voluntary organisations. Visit Source Nottinghamshire
  • There are also lots of useful video tutorials online related to funding. At the bottom of this page, you can see one created by the Institute of Fundraising, all about developing a fundraising strategy. Awards for all have also put together a useful video that talks through the process of applying for their funding - and while it's specific to Awards for All, a lot of the tips it contains would be useful if you were applying for funding from other bodies too.
  • The East Midlands Funding Forum have produced a useful guide to finding funding in the east midlands. This can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
